Ted Kennedy
Ted has been called the ‘father of CEO / Executive endurance competitions’ and his background is unique in the fitness industry and includes:
- 20 years in sales and marketing with packaged goods companies from 1979-1999 (Quaker Oats / Best Foods)
- One of the original founders of IRONMAN North America in 1999 (IRONMAN races in the USA) and responsible for bringing in sponsors such as Kellogg's, Janus, and Ford to the sport of triathlon
- Hosted the first ever CEO IRONMAN Challenge in Lake Placid in 2001
- Took the CEO Ironman Challenge concept worldwide in 2005 under a license from WTC and formed CEO Challenges, including the trademark for ‘Fittest CEO’
- Sold CEO Challenges to Life Time Fitness in 2012 with the agreement to run it for five years
- Retired from Life Time and launched Achieve Racing in 2018
Achieve Racing was founded in 2018 by Ted Kennedy of CEO Challenges with the goal of getting slots for members of YPO at the Abbott World Marathon Majors as they attempt to achieve the coveted six-star medal. Since then we have opened it up to anyone looking to enjoy a first class, all inclusive experience at a number of the greatest marathons in the world.

Ted is a top age group duathlete / triathlete and competitive nordic ski racer. He is married, lives in Boulder, CO and has three grown children who have all embarked on their own successful careers.
