🚴‍♂️⛳ Cycle & Golf Challenge — Boulder, Colorado

TO BENEFIT THE GBS / CIDP FOUNDATION

September 13–16, 2026

Join us in Boulder, CO for the ultimate test of two passions — cycling and golf! Meet like-minded athletes, enjoy Colorado’s stunning mountain scenery, and find out who truly rules both the road and the fairway.

🏆 Event Overview

The Cycle & Golf Challenge combines your best net golf performance with your net time on a gravel cycling climb to crown an overall champion.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Golf: Play two rounds. Your best net (handicapped) score counts.

  2. Cycling: Ride the iconic Poorman / Four Mile to Gold Hill gravel climb (7 miles, 6,000 ft → 8,000 ft). Your net time is adjusted by age group.

  3. Total Score: Add your net golf score and net cycling time — lowest combined score wins!

⏱️ Age-Graded Cycling Adjustments

We’ve analyzed Strava data on the Poorman / 4-mile to Gold Hill gravel segment to ensure fair competition across ages. Older riders get time deductions based on the fastest in each age group: We will also adjust times for any female competitors and various weight classes.

(Notable times include Sepp Kuss in the 20-24 group - 35 mins, Taylor Phinney in the 25- 34 group in 41 mins, Tom Danielson in the 45 - 54 group in 38:30, and Ted Kennedy in the 65 - 69 group in 57 mins)

For Example:
Rider A is our youngest rider at 42-year-old and rides 45 minutes; Rider B is 66-years-old rides 60 minutes.
After adjustments, the 66-year-old’s net time is 50 minutes (60 − 10). Rider A’s net time remains at 45 mins.

We will also crown a champion with the best gross golf score with their time up the climb.

A portion of each participant's entry will be donated to the GBS / CIDP Foundation*, and athletes will be encouraged to raise additional funds for the Foundation.
