The Achieve Racing program will kick off with a private reception on a mega-yacht in Miami on Wednesday evening, November 13. On Thursday we will fly, as a group, from Miami to Havana and be transported to our host hotel.
The package includes a People to People (P2P) Travel Visa for each person that allows American citizens to travel to Cuba. In order to qualify for this visa we must book through a Cuban Tourist company, have a full-time bilingual guide with us, and partake in a number of cultural activities.
The program includes accommodations from Thursday to Monday, breakfast each day, most lunches, intimate dinners each night (with drinks), and the opportunity to be one of the very few Americans to run either the Half Marathon or Full Marathon distance at the Marabana.
The course is two identical loops of 13.1 miles each, and includes running along the famous Malecon break-wall, around the National Sports Stadium, and by Revolution Square before returning to finish in Old Havana in front of the Capitolio building.
Proposed Itinerary
Wednesday, November 13
Arrive in Miami, Florida (flight to Miami not included)
5pm - Miami Harbor: Complimentary private cocktail reception and sunset cruise aboard the mega yacht ‘Make BIG Happen’. Includes food and drinks (2 - 3 hours)
Thursday, Nov 14
Meet as a group at Miami Airport for American Airlines #2705 departure to Havana (Travel Visas will be issued at this time)
9:29am - Plane departs in Miami, arrives in Havana at 10:45am (hotel in Miami and flight to Havana not included and needs to be booked by each individual)
Private bus will meet the group at the airport (with dedicated bilingual guide) and take us to lunch
After lunch enjoy a guided walking tour of historic Old Havana
Afternoon - VIP check-in to our host hotel - The 5-star Grand Aston La Habana Hotel
Evening - Dinner at the highly rated El Cocinero
After Dinner - Frabrica de Arte for a private tour and drinks
Friday, Nov 15
Breakfast at the hotel
9am - Transportation to Finca Vigia - Ernest Heminghway’s Cuban home for 20 years
Morning - Meet & greet with Cuban Olympic runners
Lunch - at the private restaurant Cinco Sentidos
Afternoon - visit the Partagas Cigar Factory
Cocktails - At artist Esterio Segura’s home
Dinner - La Guardia, the finest dining experience in Havana
Saturday, November 16
Easy warmup run along the Malecon at your leisure
Breakfast
Morning - Architectural tour of Modern Havana
Lunch - Atelier Restaurant
Afternoon - Relax and prepare for the race (your race bibs will be collected for you on Friday)
Dinner - Join a group of runners for a pre-race pasta dinner at the hotel
Sunday, Nov 17 - Race Day!
Early breakfast at the hotel
Private shuttle will take you to the start of the race in Old Havana
Bus will be available throughout the day to escort runners back to the hotel

Monday, Nov 18
Breakfast
Check out and transfer to the airport for the flight back to Miami
(Option - join other runners on a 2-day trip to the beach resort Varadero)
